En Bici Sense Edat és una iniciativa senzilla però innovadora, impulsada en 2012 per Ole Kassow, a Copenhage: Cycling Without Age.
L’idea que origina el projecte és simplement la de retornar la capacitat d’anar en bicicleta a la gent gran, tenint en compte les dificultats de mobilitat d’aquest col·lectiu.
L’Ole va trobar la resposta en l’ús dels rickshaws, un tipus de bicicleta amb el qual no solament podia oferir a la gent gran la possibilitat de tornar a anar en bicicleta, sinó a més, d’establir una connexió inter generacional entre el ciclista i el passatger.
L’experiència des dels seus començaments va ser tan enriquidora per ambdues parts (el conductor del rickshaw i el passatger) que al cap de poc temps va començar a créixer amb ajuda de l’ajuntament i d’un ampli grup de voluntaris.
Avui dia el projecte s’ha estès per tota Dinamarca, així com a la resta del món.

Getting started with a Cycling Without Age chapter is an amazing experience. Nothing beats witnessing the joy of the elderly, pilots and personnel interact on and around the trishaw and seeing the smiles of passengers coming back from their first ride with wind in their hair, rosy cheeks and full of stories. We love to experience the movement of Cycling Without Age spreading all over the world and always welcome more to join.
We have launched a set of simple license models for communities, nursing homes and cities worldwide to become part of the movement. We already have a wealth of experience in working with nursing home staff and management, city councils, other volunteer organizations, cyclists federations as well as great ideas of how to get the initiative off the ground and locals excited about it.
